The first Acid Test took place on Nov. 27, 1965 at Ken Babbs house in Soquel, by Santa Cruz, and featured the Warlocks playing around while getting high on LSD.
In the book, Electric Kool Aid Acid Test, Tom Wolfe writes about an instance where one of the Pranksters went down to the Hip Pocket Book Store to place a handbill or poster up for the 1st Acid Test at Ken Babbs house.
The person I obtained this item from, Harvey Pollard, wrote me a letter before he passed away describing his own adventure taking this small poster down from the Catalyst Coffee Shop at the time.
In 2010, I personally acquired Lee Quarnstrom's Acid Test Diploma and when I was at his home, I asked him some questions about these times. Lee revealed to me that he used to work at the Hip Pocket Book Store at that time. He said it was connected from the inside, to the Catalyst Coffee Shop and you didn't have to go outside to go from one store to the other.
Therefore, it's highly possible that this is the handbill/poster being discussed in the book, Electric Kool Aid Acid Test.
In 2015, the surviving members of the Grateful Dead played both Santa Clara, CA and Soldier Field Chicago and at the end of both shows, they displayed THIS Mini-Poster on the Big Screen for everyone to see.
An Extremely Important collectable marking the very beginning of the psychedelic sixties and rock and roll music.
